Avon: Herve Leger Femme Eau de Parfum

Herve Leger Femme
Eau de Parfum Spray
Enticing freshness, exotic florals & addictive honeyed woods
Wrap yourself in seduction

Fragrance is very personal; it's worth remembering when purchasing a new perfume that it is important to give the fragrance time to warm... Initially, we're drawn to the packaging as this indicates the personality of the scent. Herve Leger, the designer of the iconic bandage dress has created both a male & female fragrances, brought to you by Avon. The Herve Leger Femme bottle, as you can see is based upon the design of the bandage dress, it is glamourous & classy. The scent itself is described as: 'enticing freshness, exotic florals & addictive honeyed woods'... I would have to agree. I have worn this perfume on a number of occassions & each time received compliments... it's one of those scents where somebody goes 'oooh, somebody smells nice' ^___^

Both male & female Herve Leger Fragrances are currently on offer through Avon, with a complimentary gift worth £10 & £18 respectively... making this a fantastic offer!

♥ Fergie ~ Outspoken ♥

I was lucky enough to sample this product & I have to say I really like this perfume... This scent is very sensual. The thing with perfumes is that they smell differently on different bodies. Personally, I find the fragrance warm enough for daytime, yet powerful enough for the evening. The scent is long lasting & I found that I did not have to re-apply it during the day...

The glamorous packaging is a must have for those of you who like your celebrity fragrances! Outspoken by Fergie, is exclusive to Avon...

Avon are offering a superb deal, available only through your Avon Representative... When you purchase the 50ml fragrance, you will also receive a free gift of: 75ml Body Spray & 150ml body lotion.

However, all 3 products are available individually online.

Fergie's first signature fragrance
♥ A contrasting, rebellious perfume with confidence
♥ Launches 3 June 2010
♥ 50ml, £14

(information obtained via Avon)

Outspoken is the first fragrance developed in partnership with multi-platinum recording artist Fergie. Described as strong and outrageously bold, Outspoken is for the woman who needs no introduction. Fergie's personality is described as fearless, true to herself and her beliefs.

“I’m so excited to partner with Avon to develop my first-ever fragrance,” Fergie comments. “I’m always seeking out new ways to express myself, and fragrance is the perfect opportunity to share my originality and confidence with my fans, and the Avon consumer.”

The scent and packaging reflects Fergie's true nature, a combination of the edgy rock chick who is sexy and not afraid of being noticed and the belle of the ball who is traditionally feminine and mysterious. Not for the faint hearted, Outspoken is about being bold, sexy and uninhibited.

The fragrance is a highly contrasted scent with a raw edge to shock the senses. Intoxicating and sensual, Outspoken combines equal parts of independence, confidence and femininity. Bold top notes impart a mysterious sensation that scintillates the senses, while the fearless feminine heart is sharply contrasted with raw sexiness and a distinct masculine edge from the racy black leather. The floral, fruity fragrance speaks volumes.

The inspiration for the Outspoken bottle came from Fergie's wedding day; she recalls seeing a beautiful crystal decanter and wanted that classic elegant design to be reflected in her fragrance. The faceted diamond top is complimented by the seductive purple hue of the curved glass bottle; together symbolising the fragrance's confidence and femininity.

"I didn't want it to be so cutesy," Fergie said of the perfume which features starfruit, tuberose, jasmine, and passion flower with base notes of black leather and smoky vetiver.

♥ Will I be purchasing it?
Definitely

✿ Festival Fever ✿

With the festival season upon us & being somewhat of a festival veteran myself; I have decided that over the next couple of weeks, I shall be sharing some of my biggest festival tips & experiences… Whatever the weather, however hung-over, it’s always possible to rock out like a diva & not look like you’ve spent a week in a field away from civility.

If you’ve got any queries &/or requests, just let me know & I’ll do my best to answer!

French Fashion designer Coco Chanel declared that we all get the face we deserve... whether it’s relationship breakdowns, late nights, poor diet or stress, all of our experiences will leave their mark upon our face.

Despite new treatments becoming available to repair the ‘damage' we should still be aware & take responsibility for the fact that our lifestyles will be illustrated within our facial features.

John Tsagaris, doctor of chinese medicine at London’s Vaishaly clinic says: “Our face can be divided into zones that relate directly to our organs, in much the same way our feet can.” He added: “Any imbalances & stress within your internal organs will show up in the corresponding face zone. The good news is that if you know the signs, you can prevent problems from developing in the first place.”

According to chinese medicine:
These are the areas which relate to our organs.
  • Area around the mouth – the sexual organs & immune system.
  • Mouth - the digestive system: a swollen or dry bottom lip can denote a colon imbalance.
  • Cheeks – the lungs: inflammation or spots here point to mucus formation, possibly caused by too much dairy.
  • The space between the eyebrows - the liver: if the area is oily, red or creased, go easy on the booze & animal fats.
  • Area around the eyes - the kidneys & adrenal glands: kidney problems are shown by puffiness or dark circles under the eyes, problems with your adrenal glands can cause the inner-eye corners look bruised.
In addition to this; pharmaceutical companies also look to the skin to denote medical problems: “All of the body’s systems are interconnected and depend on each other to keep us healthy” says: dermatologist Tom Mammore, Cliniques director of biological research and development.

“The skin is our largest organ & its function is to protect from infection & eliminate harmful compounds. It makes sense that trouble on the inside becomes apparent here.”

Major upsets, such as a break-up or the death of a loved one, can also disrupt your skin’s natural self-healing and regenerative functions, which leads directly to signs of ageing.

These developments have not gone unnoticed by the skincare industry. Along with skincare designed to relieve the visible symptoms of stress, hard living & a poor diet, many brands offer increasingly holistic face & body treatments & even include lifestyle changes.

The International Dermal Institute trains beauty therapists worldwide. They believe that using both Western & Eastern diagnostics are the key.

IDI training manager Sally Penford says: ‘Along with helping clients to manage acute skin problems, we believe in addressing their causes, and the ancient methods of face diagnosis are a sure-fire way to get to their root.” She added: "We teach Dermalogical therapists a technique called “Face Mapping” which has them divide a client’s skin into zones & survey each area for congestion, lines, inflammation & the like. Recognising the cause of a skin complaint will help the therapist treat the condition effectively.”

Green is not a colour, it’s a state of mind:

Whilst once again sorting through my life, I stumbled upon a couple of BodyShop gift-cards...

As with most things, I had forgotten about them & so I decided to pop into my local store & make an enquiry about their balance... well, all I can say is that I’m a very lucky Pixee.

Whilst I was having a browse, I found this rather lovely bag which reads: 'green isn’t a colour, It’s a state of mind’...

In addition to this, the tag reads:
GREEN BAG
ORGANICALLY GROWN COTTON
This re-usuable bag is produced using organically grown cotton and without the harmful effects pesticides have on our environment. It’s community trade too, from Teddy Exports in India. As well as providing vital employment, they have also funded local health education programmes and built a school. Plus, we donate the profits from this bag to charities. And you thought it just carried your shopping!

I couldn’t help myself, I’m a sucker for ethical slogans!
